HAIR TRANSPLANT TECHNIQUES

FUE Hair Transplant process

Step 1
Consultation

During this step the surgeon takes time to answer the questions of the patient, explain the hair transplant process, analyse the donor area and propose an operation that provides a natural hair look.

Step 2
Preparation to graft extraction

During this step, the hair of the patient is shaved, the skin is disinfected with an antiseptic solution and the local anaesthesia is administered.

Step 3
Graft Extraction

When the donor area is numb, the surgeon can start the extraction using a micromotor blade tool to cut around the hair graft.
Important: our recommended surgeons use magnifying glasses to be precise and avoid damaging the hair graft during the extraction.

Step 4
Storage of the Grafts

The extracted grafts are stored depending on the hair follicles number (a graft can have 1,2 or 3 hair follicles) and on the moment they were extracted. To be able to grow successfully in the transplanted area, the graft should spend the least time possible outside of the skin.

Step 5
Channels Opening

Anaesthesia is applied to the recipient area and micro holes (channels of 0.7-0.9 mm) are opened by the surgeon himself. The grafts are implanted in these channels. The angle and the depth of the channels are important parameters to ensure a natural look. Care is taken to avoid damaging existing hair follicles.

Step 6
Implantation of the follicular units

The doctor and his team use an implanter to place the grafts in its new place. This step has to be done by an experienced team, because the hair has to be implanted at the right depth.

Step 7
Post-operative check-up

Our clinic performs the first hair wash after surgery to ensure no damage is done to the donor or graft area. We provide detailed advice on how to wash and moisturize the hair to ensure the hair transplant has the best chance of succeeding.

Follicular Unit Extraction is a procedure in which follicular unit grafts (hair follicles) are individually removed from the back of the head (donor area ) and restored to your bald spot (recipient areas). The surgeons we work with believe that FUE is the best and most effective hair transplant technique in terms of natural results.

However, its success rate is not high everywhere. Unfortunately, some clinics want to follow the trend of offering hair transplant services and open new business opportunities. Therefore, it is important for us to control the technique of the clinics to ensure our patient a safe and successful hair transplant.

No shave / partial shave Hair Transplant

No shave FUE

Many patients change their mind about a hair transplant surgery when they know that it is a must to have their hair cut.

No shave FUE requires shaving a small part of the donor area. The rest of the hair will cover the small shaved donor area. Therefore, this technique cannot exceed 1500 grafts implantation otherwise shaving is required.

Partial Shave FUE

Partial Shave FUE does not require to shave the whole hair. The donor area is fully shaved but the rest of the hair will remain unshaved to help the patient hide the scars of the hair transplant surgery.

Patients can implant up to 3000 Grafts per day with the Partial FUE Shave Method.

Classic FUE

Classic FUE requires a full hair shave for the doctor to be able to extract and implant the grafts in the best way possible, patients can implant up to 4000 grafts per day.

Our surgeon recommends you to have the Classic FUE surgery for best results but the other techniques can be discussed on a case by case basis.

Beard Transplant

Beard transplant is a procedure which restores hair to areas where facial hair growth is thin or missing.

While this procedure is most commonly performed on the goatee and moustache areas, it can also be performed on beards, sideburns and cheeks. Facial hair transplants can also be used to conceal acne scars and other types of scars.

Loss of facial hair may occur for a number of reasons. It can be the result of genetics, laser hair removal, electrolysis, surgery, burns or injury.

Goals for this procedure can vary from a minor filling in or thin coverage of a limited area, to the full restoration of a thick, full goatee or beard. The procedure can be performed on areas where there is no hair or on areas where hair growth is thin and more fullness is desired.

The beard hair grafts come from the same donor area as for a hair transplant (back of the head).

DHI Hair Transplant

Direct Hair Implantation is made to minimize the period of time where the graft is extruded from the back side of the head until it is implanted to the baldness area for the extruded grafts from the donor area for transplantation. The channel opening and graft implantation (step 5 and 6) are done in one step thanks to the choi-implanter pen.

This technique appeared in year 2016 and most of our recommended surgeons prefer to use FUE method because of their long term experience and success with it.
